Aerith's powers as a Cetra
Aerith is a Cetra, which is a kind of proto-human in FF7's world. Cetra have a strong tie to the planet, Gaia, and the Lifestream, which gives them magical abilities.
Cetra are capable of conducting a Planet Reading, which lets them speak directly to Gaia itself - for instance, Aerith strongly hints that she can hear her flowers, and that they only want to be tended by her. (And, in a weirder instance, hearing the wind calling her name.) Cetra's influence also makes the planet fertile, which allowed Aerith to grow patches of flowers in the normally barren Midgar. She doesn't have any control over this.
Similar to a Planet Reading, she can "Read" other people as well. In the FF7 Ultimania, it's stated that Aerith can “grasp the truth concealed deep inside people’s minds.” She can sense that Cloud isn't Cloud himself, hear an "old voice" from inside Elfe, tell when the stoic Nanaki is pushing himself too hard, etc. In one weird instance, she used this power to project herself into Cloud's dream.
Being connected to the Lifestream allows Aerith to sense when someone has died, and also allows her to communicate with the dead. This, obviously, doesn't work in MoM, so I tweaked this power a bit. Aerith can now have a sixth sense that allows her to detect changes or abnormalities in life energy throughout the world, or sense sickness or injury in others from a short distance. If Aerith focuses on it, she can feel someone die across the world (shown in canon when her adoptive mother's husband dies far away in Wutai, a foreign country).
Also dormant in MoM is her ability to be used as a Medium by the Lifestream. Both Aerith and her mother were shown to have their Cetra ancestors speak through them. Its influence can be overwhelming for her, though it doesn't hit her mother quite as hard.
Aerith's major power, both in MoM and in FF7 itself is her access to healing magic. This is also a Cetra trait, meant for healing the planet. She can heal anything from little battle wounds to - at full strength, with her strongest Limit - serious diseased. This is Great Gospel, which summons a healing rain and temporarily makes herself and other party members invincible. To keep her from being too overpowered, she won't be able to use this move often; the invincibility will also only last about a couple minutes.
As a Cetra, Aerith is noticeably non-human to characters that can sense these things, since she probably gives off a kind of magical aura.
IMPORTANT: Aerith's got a snazzy ability to read people's souls, letting her know things about other people, like, if they're hiding something big, if they're deceiving themselves or her, etc. She can also read their nature. She cannot tell if someone is lying to her and she doesn't/can't use this as a lie detector. She also can't tell specific things; it's more like a general feeling.
Let me know down below if you want - or don't want - Aerith reading your character like a book, or potentially spoiling things.

Generally, he's powered by fear, insecurity, varying levels of misaimed anger and ... uh... he's basically just way more teenager than his broken scraps of brain can handle. He IS hiding something fairly large though, albeit possibly poorly, and that's that his power is slowly killing him. He doesn't really know that, exactly. He knows things are wrong, which scares him, which makes him even harder to deal with. The only times he feels 100% fine is when he doesn't have his powers.
So if you want to even begin to deal with that hornet nest, that's there.

Personally, I don't mind if Aerith notices or says anything about it—in fact, that might actually be pretty interesting since the only thing Dorian has expressed about his most recent trip back home is that he loses Toby.

Ahahaha yeah Qubit's hiding virtually everything about his past prior to MoM, like all but the most general details. He has some enormous secrets back there that could seriously harm or even totally destroy him if they came to light, so Aerith's welcome to realize that. (There is so much blood on his hands u gaiz.)
As for his "nature," it's sort of teetering on the already fuzzy line between "good person who has done a lot of bad things" and "bad person who has done a lot of good things." It is all mangled up in tangled up knots. Have fun trying to decipher that, gurl 8'D

Beneath the surface, though, he's lugging around twelve Persona, which probably feels... weird. He's a Wild Card, so he has "infinite possibilities" -- in essence he has a very malleable soul that can represent any aspect of human nature. He also used to have Death itself sealed in him for about 10 years as a kid, so, that's fun. That's probably left a mark.
Do with this as you will!! Go nuts.

Her general certainty that what she is doing is absolutely right has been a little shaken now she's been ported out of her own world, feel free to notice that she's just pretending to know what she's doing.

Right before being ported in, her soul got yoinked out of her ever-so-briefly but it was put back in right away and really let's all not worry about it.

in MoM he's been dealing with the loss of the societal structure that's guided everything for his entire life in addition to being separated from his self-assigned mission of sorts to get justice for sasayama, and he's kinda adrift and at a loss about the whole thing.
as far as his nature goes he's basically a good dude who has strong feelings about justice but it's also been marred with a lot of negativity, including anger and bitterness and frustration and guilt. the best way to describe the state of his soul would probably be "weary". life's taken a lot out of him, basically, and he's really tired.

Well okay, to be specific, even though he's made a lot of progress he is still at his core, in his soul, a very cynical and moody young man. Constantly struggling with apathy and anger, ready to deflect anything with sarcasm or self-deprecation. A mind control incident a couple of years ago has completely fucked his ability to tell if he's honestly romantically interested in people or grasping at the feeling of that. He's at the same time terrified of intimacy while being extremely emotionally codependent, but is at least fumbling towards some kind of reconciliation with all this. He's making progress, even if it's clear soul-wise he's taken some hits. A lot of hits. Shinji is fully dedicated to moving forward with his life.
...Which brings up the stuff he's lying to himself about and/or hiding. Shinji caused an apocalypse! He and his clone-sister reincarnated the entire world! He's going to be replaced with a new version of himself when he gets home and will never see anyone from his world ever again! Shinji is in extreme denial of all of these facts at the moment, and the dreamlike state of being fused with the EVA and Lilith make it easier for him to shrug it off and push it way back into the corner of his mind.
Exciting.

Since you're pretty familiar with Kaworu and who/what he is, I'm just going to give you blanket permission: how old he simultaneously is/isn't, how very Not A Human he is, the whole Adam thing...
He's got a lot of Weird Baggage that is extremely indirect, like a background radiation of conflict between this cosmic mechanism of existence and his really confused toddler emotional existence that he didn't even ask for tbh. He's so detached from human emotions but also he's gotten tangled up in them somehow.

So far as their natures, they really do read like two sides of a coin; Frisk is empathetic, kind, trusting, and Chara is prickly, wary, and reclusive. Both of them carry a lot of baggage and have a very low sense of self worth, but they have a very strong bond with each other and do their best to help prop the other up. Frisk in particular very clearly has a need to be loved, but also feels that they need to be useful and earn that love. Chara is...difficult. They do desperately want to be loved as well, but they've given up on ever having anything other than Frisk.

But as far as the soul reading goes, he fits the 'asshole with a heart of gold' trope to a T.

He might deceive her directly, or just by omission by not immediately telling her "yo I'm a baddie" - his openness about his criminal history is kind of nebulous in that he doesn't try very hard to hide the fact that he's involved in illegal or quasilegal stuff, but he does generally try to keep the details secret. He also isn't very self-deceptive at all - he knows full well that what he does is both illegal and morally wrong, and he's at peace with that. His level of internal conflict is usually very low.

He's got some bad stuff happening. Dead parents, he died once himself, bad guys who mutate into constellations, watching his best friend get murdered (later revived) but Gentarou's general outlook is sunny, positive, full of pure intentions to be friends with everyone he meets.
He's also got a secret identity as Fourze. That's all.
